Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Management Specialist to join our team at the Federal Emergency Management Agency. As a key member of our Response Division, you will play a critical role in coordinating with private sector associations and higher education institutions to understand and comprehend critical supply chains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive business and industry insights by lifeline components for FEMA Region 3.
  • Ensure logistical planning collaboration among Response Division branches, other Region 3 Divisions, the Defense Coordinating Element, other regions, Office Response and Recovery, and the Logistics Management Directorate.
  • Develop and maintain job aids, guides, maps, checklists, and other resources for individual emergency assignments.
  • Provide business & industry supply chain analysis/insights during disaster deployments in either an incident management or incident support capacity.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • Selective Service registration required.
  • Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
  • Must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  • Coordinating with Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, nongovernmental organizations, and private sector partners across multiple functions, disciplines, and mission areas related to emergency management.
  • Experience working in a Response Coordination Center, AND Developing and maintaining job aids, guides, maps, checklists, and other resources for the emergency assignment, AND Preparing guidance focusing on emergency response issues that comply with and follow emergency management-related directives, regulations, policies, laws, and standards; and Developing formal Disaster Response Plans.
  • Providing business & industry supply chain analysis/insights during disaster deployments in incident management or support capacity.
