The individual in this position must be able to provide an emotionally safe environment for women recovering from substance use, trauma, and/or co-occurring disorders. Key responsibilities include:* Administering medication, including MATs and injectables* Adhering to IHI's controlled substance policy* Performing comprehensive nursing assessments* Handling sick call and providing written reports to the RN Health Care Coordinator* Assisting with prior authorizations for medication when needed* Maintaining medical records for clients* Collaborating with the RN to coordinate client medical needs and significant diagnoses and treatment with client's primary therapist and facility psychiatrist* Coordinating client prescriptions with the pharmacy and marking the client MEDICAL ASSISTANCE number on the back of all prescriptions before sending them to the pharmacy* Following up on health problems and health assessments under the direction of the RN Nurse Manager* Maintaining standard precautions among staff and residents* Removing old prescriptions and returning them to Tepper's Pharmacy* Ensuring all significant incidents are properly reported to all appropriate agencies* Providing support to staff on duty to help resolve conflicts in crisis or emergency situations* Participating in the week-day holiday rotation schedule with other LPNs* Performing Covid-19 screenings* Providing nursing care to clients in quarantine* Other duties as assigned by the RN or Program Director. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in nursing, updated criminal record, FBI, and child abuse clearances, CPR and First Aid Certification, and a valid driver's license. Experience in a behavioral health care setting and knowledge of diverse cultural needs are also required. The salary for this position is $25 per hour, and the work schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
