Aurora, Colorado, United States Johnson Controls International Full time

Overview of Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as the primary project leader on-site, responsible for the planning and execution of access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and intercom system projects for designated clients. You will either perform or delegate tasks necessary to implement and successfully complete assigned projects, which include hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout. You will oversee the financial performance of projects, managing costs, billings, and collections while ensuring a balance between customer satisfaction and project profitability. Actively seeking opportunities for change orders will be part of your responsibilities. You will maintain communication with clients throughout all project phases and ensure the proper execution of warranty obligations. You will also provide direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative staff as needed, ensuring compliance with all relevant legal requirements and upholding the highest ethical standards. Adherence to safety protocols for all staff and subcontractors is paramount.

Execution Strategy

You will complete standard installation hardware design and software programming according to established protocols. Clear communication of design and operational details to clients, Johnson Controls personnel, and subcontractors will be essential.

You will actively seek additional work through change orders, assessing the contractual scope of work and the implications of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and scheduling adjustments. Both technical and business-related communications with clients will be part of your role.

You will manage the selection, ordering, budgeting, and delivery timelines for materials required for your assigned projects.

You will obtain pricing and availability from external vendors and suppliers, as well as mechanical and electrical subcontractors, ensuring clarity on scope, terms, and conditions. You may solicit multiple bids during the pricing process and oversee subcontractor payment and billing activities.

On-site coordination for the physical placement of panels and field devices will be your responsibility, ensuring that installations align with Johnson Controls standards and project specifications.

You will handle the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all systems and controllers as necessary, validating complete system functionality and addressing any issues with subcontractors to ensure proper operation. Accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation will be required.

You will manage costs, billings, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate project billings to clients while maintaining profitability and positive cash flow.

Providing coaching, mentoring, and technical support to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, and System Designers will be part of your role, ensuring that delegated tasks are completed accurately, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the contract scope.

You will communicate project status updates to management as required and provide monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.

Developing project plans and coordinating necessary resources will be crucial to ensure accurate and cost-effective installation and completion of assigned projects.

You will conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the complete system, ensuring they are adequately trained and provided with the necessary documentation and manuals for system operation.

Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors will be essential, and you will attend job progress meetings as needed.
