Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer

Volt is seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer to join our team in Denver, CO. As a Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing fire sprinkler systems for various clients. Your expertise in CAD equipment and fire sprinkler design software will be essential in creating accurate and efficient layouts of fire sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop fire sprinkler systems using CAD equipment and fire sprinkler design software.
  • Prepare detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ensure drawings include all views and dimensions necessary for efficient field installation.
  • Prepare submittals and obtain permits for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Make decisions of high complexity and review questions from entry/mid-level designers.

Requirements:
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, ASIs, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), AutoCAD, and Fire Sprinkler Design software (e.g. AutoSprings, HydraCAD etc.).
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic calculations, stock listing, project design, and project management.
  • Practical experience designing Wet, Dry, Deluge, and Pre Action Sprinkler Systems for installation.
  • Design experience with fire pumps and standpipes is required.
  • Special Hazards design experience (e.g. fixed water spray, clean agent, foam, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with general construction practices and terms.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 13D, 13R, 14, 20, 25 and associated Codes/Standards.

Project Management Responsibilities:
  • Purchase material, buy out subcontracts, generate RFIs, prepare and maintain project schedules.
  • Communicate with field personnel, AHJ's, customers, sales reps, and field superintendents.
  • Retain full project responsibility for approvals, material procurement, coordination, schedule, and design budgets.
  • Attend all project related meetings.
  • Perform other job duties as required.

Education:
  • Associate or Bachelor (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent, postsecondary education preferred.
  • Experience with Revit, NavisWorks, and AutoSprink a plus.
  • NICET III (min), NICET IV or PE (preferred).

Salary: $83,200.00-$104,000.00 a year

Benefits: Since this is a Direct Hire role, benefits will be provided by the employer.
