About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior CEI Inspector to join our team at Lochner. As a Senior CEI Inspector, you will be responsible for planning, reviewing, and assigning work to construction field office personnel, including Lochner staff, sub-consultants, and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of inspectors responsible for monitoring work quality and performance
  • Review project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues
  • Read and interpret complex contract plans and specifications
  • Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule
  • Review/coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs, and technical submittals
  • Proactively manage construction changes and claims and work with client to resolve
  • Lead construction meetings with clients and contractors
Requirements
  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 10+ years of construction management experience on road and bridge infrastructure FLDOT projects
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects
  • Requires progressive work-related experience
  • Work requires ability to gather and understand technical data for purposes of generating advanced technical reports
  • Requires advanced knowledge of construction practices and principles
  • Must be able to interpret plans, standards, and specifications
  • Good understanding of construction specifications and plans
  • Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Must have a working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of FLDOT specification and standards is required
  • Ability to effectively lead a team of inspectors
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
