We are seeking a highly experienced CEI Senior Inspector to join our FDOT highway team in Deland, FL. As a key member of our technical team, you will contribute to the development of new techniques and standards.

Your responsibilities will include mentoring early professionals, assisting resident engineers and project administrators with inspection work, and ensuring compliance with project and client specifications.

As a senior inspector, you will be responsible for determining the acceptability of daily work, reviewing and recommending reports, and performing inspections of quality control procedures.

You will also be responsible for material testing, verifying procedures, and reviewing testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract.

Additionally, you may be required to perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.

Requirements for this role include a high school diploma, previous experience working on roadway or bridge projects, a valid state driver's license, and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.

CTQP Certification is also required.

Ideal Qualifications:

A technical school graduate or degree related to Engineering or Construction Management is preferred but not mandatory.

Essential Functions:

This role requires intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements are limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried is 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands are utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls are necessary.

You must be alert to equipment in the field, with occasional travel, work near construction equipment, and potential exposure to hazardous equipment and machinery. You will also need to walk on uneven ground, be exposed to dust, gas or fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
