RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in the Roanoke, VA area. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K, you will play a key role in leading and strengthening our construction engineering and inspection business, including highway and bridge projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of construction structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions.
- Monitor the activities of other Inspectors and ensure effective communication across different platforms.
- Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects.
- Recordkeeping and reporting as required.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in materials, standards, and specifications related to state highway projects and facilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on small construction projects.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Inspection experience including roadway, asphalt, concrete, pavement markings, structure, and bridge construction methods.
- VDOT and other local public agency experience desired.
- VDOT Material Certifications are a plus (Asphalt, Concrete, Pavement Marking, Soils, Intermediate Traffic Control Certified, etc.).
- Site Manager experience preferred.
