About the Job:

Deschutes County is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist II to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a member of this dynamic team, you will provide high-intensity treatment services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) using the ACT model. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team that serves approximately 60 clients, allowing for low staff-to-client ratios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct service to clients: group therapy, skills training, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Comprehensive care coordination.
  • Timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and service notes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a behavioral science field.
  • One (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current licensure without restrictions from a recognized governing board in Oregon as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • Experience providing substance use disorder/co-occurring treatment.

Necessary Special Requirements:

  • Driving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
  • Must have dependable transportation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
