Job Title: Maintenance Technician II

Serán BioScience is seeking a skilled tradesperson to join our Facilities team as a Maintenance Technician II. This role involves performing and documenting diversified duties across campus facilities, including cGMP manufacturing, warehouse, and laboratory environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document preventative and productive maintenance on GMP and non-GMP facility systems
  • Conduct quality checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Assist in on-the-job training of newly hired maintenance technicians
  • Identify and report safety hazards, and take appropriate actions to resolve
  • Execute and control daily and weekly work orders, maintenance tasks, and written reports with minimal supervision
  • Request, organize, and maintain tools and equipment used to perform duties
  • Coordinate and manage contractors working on buildings and supporting equipment
  • Support the Facilities Manager in daily operations of repair and maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Apply knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Requirements:
  • Experience and knowledge of facility systems, including HVAC, compressed gases, water systems, electrical, and automation/controls
  • Ability to assemble and inspect equipment
  • Ability to evaluate equipment failure situations and develop effective plans of action
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivation and hands-on technical skills
  • Awareness of safety and proper safety behavior
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tools and equipment used on the job
  • Ability to make decisions, prioritize workload, and respond to change
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience in building maintenance or a related field
  • Preference for candidates with pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry experience working in a cGMP environment
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work throughout facilities
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders
  • Work in settings with extreme cold or heat
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid Oregon Driver's license and personal vehicle insurance
