Job Summary:

Sweet Pea's, a locally owned and operated retail business, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer experiences, assisting the store manager with daily tasks, and overseeing the site in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Assist the store manager with various daily tasks, including managing inventory, processing orders, and maintaining store appearance.
  • Manage the site in the absence of the store manager, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Complete management paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee the training of cashiers and ensure they are equipped to provide excellent customer service.
  • Write, receive, and stock orders for the site, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Oversee employees on shift, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Act as a communicator between cashiers and the management team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Critical inventory counts and ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Follow and enforce company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • A valid driver's license with reliable transportation, ensuring timely attendance and flexibility.
  • Retail management experience is preferred, but not required. We are open to candidates with transferable skills and a passion for retail.
  • Able to lift and carry 20+ pounds, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to be on call for staffing issues or emergencies, demonstrating a commitment to the success of the business.
