Job Summary:

The DC Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Coordinator - Board Certified Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of behavioral programs for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement behavioral programs for students with special needs, in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and other support staff.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and develop behavior intervention plans to support students with challenging behaviors.
  • Provide training and coaching to teachers and support staff on behavioral strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as special education and student services, to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting students with special needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral programs and make data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in a related field, such as special education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral theories and interventions, including positive behavioral supports and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and community members.

Working Conditions:

This is a safety-sensitive position, and all safety-sensitive positions are subject to mandatory pre-employment drug testing in accordance with the Child and Youth, Safety and Health Omnibus Act of 2004. If you are tentatively selected for this position, you will be required to submit to testing for illegal drug use prior to employment, and your employment shall be contingent upon negative test results. If you are appointed into this position, you shall be subject to mandatory random drug and alcohol testing throughout your employment.
