Ophthalmic Clinic Technician

California Retina Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Clinic Technician to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.
Responsibilities- Welcome and establish rapport with patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Initiate patient evaluation and accurately document relevant information, including chief complaint, history of present illness, and ocular findings.
- Inform and educate patients on the purpose and procedures of tests, promoting transparency and trust.
- Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity assessment, confrontational visual field testing, and pupillary evaluation.
- Assist in the efficient movement of patients through the clinic flow, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Have a working knowledge of eye terminology, anatomy, pathologies, and ocular pharmacology.
- Carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective, and professional manner.
- Thoroughly understand and follow proper triage protocol.
- Perform opening and closing duties on clinic days, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure daily cleaning and stocking of each exam room with necessary supplies.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basic eye care (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and effective oral and written communication skills.
- One or more years in a customer service type role.
