About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at California Retina Consultants. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering state-of-the-art treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and establish rapport with patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience.
  • Initiate patient evaluation and accurately document chief complaints, histories, and ocular findings in accordance with compliance guidelines.
  • Inform and educate patients on test purposes and procedures, promoting transparency and trust.
  • Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity assessments, confrontational visual field testing, and pupillary evaluations.
  • Assist in efficient patient flow, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Develop a working knowledge of eye terminology, anatomy, pathologies, and ocular pharmacology.
  • Carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective, and professional manner.
  • Thoroughly understand and follow proper triage protocol.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of basic eye care (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • One or more years in a customer service type role.
  • Ability to travel and support CRC staff from multiple sites.
