We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatics Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the aquatic department, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in all aquatic programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development: Assist in the implementation and supervision of aquatic programs, ensuring the highest quality and adherence to YMCA standards.
  • Scheduling and Staff Management: Establish an aquatic schedule to ensure appropriate staff coverage for all aquatic classes and lifeguard shifts.
  • Teaching and Lifeguarding: Actively teach or lifeguard 15-25 hours per week, as well as maintain 15 hours of aquatic administration hours.
  • Staff Training and Onboarding: Assist in in-service staff training regularly to ensure the highest standards of safety and Risk Management.
  • Aquatic Safety and Maintenance: Ensure the highest standards for aquatic safety, including Department of Public Health standards, are constantly maintained.
  • Team Support: Support the Stingray Swim team and team's training group structure and team policies.
  • Character Development and YMCA Focus Areas: Ensure the Character Development and YMCA focus areas are implemented in the aquatic department and programs.
  • Communication and Engagement: Make sure clear, concise and consistent information is communicated to members and staff using various communication tools.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Play an active leadership role in the branch's Annual Campaign, assist leadership in the successful completion of the campaign and other related special events and activities.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Certifications: Requires completion and maintaining certification as Lifeguard, and Swim Instructor.
