Job Summary

Oversee the administration and operations of health profession education programs, including teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.

Develop and implement strategies to improve program quality, processes, and compliance.

This role has primary oversight of training programs, faculty, and students within the UCSF School of Nursing.

Responsibilities include coordinating program planning, development, administration, and implementation, as well as coordinating the activities of the Academic Programs staff, including student interactions, faculty support, and programmatic changes.

This position requires sophisticated analysis, a keen eye for detail, and strong communication and administrative skills to manage complex activities with an inter-professional scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration and operations of health profession education programs

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management/lead experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of the health professions education industry, administrative analysis, and operations research
  • Knowledge of assigned program requirements and curriculum
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding employees on educational techniques
  • Motivates and inspires staff to improve health profession education services
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment
  • Ability to organize assigned staff and unit operations in an efficient and effective manner
  • Effective communication skills with peers, learners, faculty, and other education program coordinators/managers
  • Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking
  • Verbal and written communication skills to explain technical health profession/education concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of department, organization, HR, and university policies and processes
  • Current knowledge of relevant industry federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including national accrediting organizations and state and federal licensing and regulatory offices
  • In-depth knowledge of educational software and technologies to promote a wide-range of teaching and learning goals
