Immigration Services Specialist

This role is situated within the Field Operations Directorate, specifically in the Office of Field Operations. As an Immigration Services Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to support various programs and assist in the implementation of information technology systems that align with organizational goals, objectives, and priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are expected at the full performance level. At entry-level positions, tasks may be more limited in scope and complexity:
- Provide operational support in areas such as asset management, human resources, security, and facilities.
- Gather, organize, and synthesize data for reporting and analytical purposes.
- Utilize fundamental project management principles to facilitate task completion.
- Assist in conducting training sessions or briefings for team members and internal stakeholders.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships within the team and with external partners.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, including financial disclosure.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Submission of a resume and supporting documentation is required.
- Males born after a certain date must be registered with the Selective Service.
- This position is part of a bargaining unit.
Applicants not currently employed by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services must meet a residency requirement, which states that candidates must have resided in the United States for three of the last five years prior to applying, or have worked for the U.S. Government overseas, or been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
Probationary PeriodNew hires may be required to complete a probationary period of one year.
QualificationsTo qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- GS-05: Three years of general experience, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-04 level, or a Bachelor's degree in any field.
- GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level, or one year of full-time graduate education.
- GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, or a Master's degree or two years of graduate education.
