Customer Service Specialist Job Description

At The Sherwin-Williams Company, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, answering product questions, and recommending solutions to meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone, determining their needs and presenting appropriate products and services
  • Build strong relationships with wholesale and retail customers, understanding their needs and preferences
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, following company policies and procedures
  • Meet or exceed sales goals, consistently delivering results and driving business growth
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to company standards and expectations
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, features, and benefits, effectively communicating this information to customers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in retail or sales
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse customers and colleagues
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Previous experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
  • Knowledge of paint and paint-related products, with experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
