Job Summary

As a key member of the Oncology Organized Customer Access and Reimbursement (OCAR) team at MSD Malaysia, the Director of Oncology Market Access will play a pivotal role in driving profitable product access across our Oncology portfolio. This strategic position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in pharmaceutical marketing, organized customer management, and managed care/payer marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute early access strategies for new oncology assets, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Global Access Teams, Global Marketing Teams, and Research & Development Division value evidence teams, to ensure transparency and alignment on access opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the Associate Director for New Products, focusing on assets closer to launch and transitioning those products to the OCAR in-line team for launch.
  • Manage and maintain early access strategies for each portfolio asset, including input on evidence generation, value messaging, list price strategy, contracting options, distribution, customer segment/site of care strategy, payer policy inclusion, provider access and reimbursement, patient access and out-of-pocket costs, pathway inclusion, and impact of legislative policy.
  • Support portfolio-based access strategies and finance alignment, ensuring accurate access inputs to annual and long-term forecasting for new products.
  • Develop and maintain modeling, research, dashboards, and analysis supporting early product access, as well as pre-approval information exchange strategy (PIE).
  • Oversight of transition planning to in-line teams for products closer to launch and support ad-hoc new product asset analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years combined experience in pharmaceutical marketing, organized customer management, managed care/payer marketing, or sales.
  • Demonstrated experience with marketing, promotion management, managed markets, and policy customer segments, account management, and/or customer marketing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare trends and policy issues and their potential impact on our company's business opportunities.
  • Deep US segment market access experience.
  • Analytic and modeling experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to lead across diverse departments, collaborating across stakeholders, and effectively engaging senior management.
  • Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical mindset, and planning and communication (written/verbal) skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Director-level experience in marketing or managed care/payer marketing or account management.
  • Experience in oncology (IV and oral).
