Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Greet patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and assist with check-in procedures.
  • Patient Coordination and Communication: Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, scheduling follow-up appointments, and obtaining referrals as needed.
  • Medical Records Management: Maintain and update patient medical records, including entering demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Insurance Verification and Billing Support: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, obtain pre-authorizations for services, and assist with billing inquiries as needed.
  • Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers with rooming patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms for patient visits.
  • Patient Education and Support: Educate patients about medical procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of clinical supplies, ensure adequate stock levels, and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance protocols.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
