Position Overview:

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, which includes the successful completion of a supervised clinical internship in an approved laboratory setting. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in an applied science such as Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry is acceptable.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required:
Preferred:

Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or the National Credentialing Agency (NCA), or an equivalent organization as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician is preferred. Equivalent agencies are defined as those requiring a degree in science from an accredited college or university, along with successful completion of a certification examination.

Examples of such agencies include ASCP, NCA, American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), and others.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is required, with supervisory experience being an advantage. Candidates should also have a thorough understanding of the requirements set forth by accrediting organizations, particularly The Joint Commission and the College of American Pathologists.


Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, along with strong leadership qualities necessary for effective management of their designated area.

A comprehensive scientific understanding of the relevant field is essential, and candidates must be capable of performing all tasks outlined in the Medical Technologist II job description.
