Job Description:

A Medical Assistant provides care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, performing general administrative and patient care tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greets and prepares patients for healthcare providers while maintaining a positive and caring attitude.
  • Coordinates care, administers care, and documents patient information for safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Performs routine tests, including EKGs, hearing and vision screens, and schedules patients for diagnostic testing.
  • Communicates test results to patients and establishes a plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Documents patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and/or be a certified Medical Assistant.
  • Current BLS Certification is required upon hire or within 60 days of hire upon approval.
  • Three (3) months previous experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • One (1) year Medical Assistant experience.

Work Environment:

This position is located at the Lafayette Clinic in LaFayette, Colorado. The hourly range for this position is $23.55. Intermountain Health is an equal opportunity employer and offers a comprehensive benefits package to its caregivers.
