Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Administrator III to join our team at Emory University. As a key member of our Research Administration Services (RAS) team, you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day activities of our Post-Award Specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor workload distribution and raise concerns to the RAS director as needed.
  • Provide guidance to team members and coordinate with the RAS director on pre-award activities, issues resolution, and workload distribution.
  • Ensure strong levels of customer service to faculty and departments being served.
  • Manage post-award activities within a RAS unit, including regular review, reconciliation, and projection of award finances.
  • Prepare adjustments and corrections to award budgets, financial reports, and ensure all financial requirements have been met and close out awards.
  • Interact regularly with faculty members conducting sponsored research and ensure adherence to quality standards and all policies and award regulations.
  • Create high-quality written reports and communicate with PIs on a regular basis regarding budget and expense adjustments and revisions.
  • Monitor compliance with agency and University regulations regarding reporting and complete financial reports to be sent to sponsors as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience related to grants and contracts management or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of federal rules and regulations/terms and conditions relating to research grant and/or contract activity.
  • Knowledge of the PeopleSoft Financial System preferred.
