Job Title: Structural Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at TLH Consulting Inc. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis and design for various building types, including commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile construction documents, site investigations, and field measurements to analyze and design building structures.
  • Design and develop structural systems, including aluminum, light gauge metal framing, reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, and wood.
  • Utilize building codes and standard reference materials for commercial and residential structures.
  • Prepare professional reports, construction documents, and letters.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other engineers and designers.
  • Meet deadlines and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Produce sections, details, and specifications using Revit software.
  • Estimate various schematic designs of structures, including columns, footings, and shear walls.
  • Review construction documents, including columns reinforcement, shear walls reinforcement, slab reinforcement, foundation reinforcement, elevator system, and concrete mix designs shop drawings.
  • Assist with site inspections, including concrete pours, formwork placement, foundation layout, slab and column reinforcement placement.
  • Attend coordination meetings with the project team, including owners, developers, architects, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers.
  • Manage and modify submissions of projects, including Foundations, Bulletins, and Issue for Construction.
  • Perform structural design of buildings and prepare related engineering calculations and structural modeling.
  • Provide technical or operational guidance to graduate and junior engineers.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
  • Travel to project sites and meetings as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Professional licensure is desired but not required.
  • Experience using AutoCad and Revit software.
  • Analysis software experience with Tekla, Tedds, RAM, and RISA 3D is a plus.
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and other industry-relevant design codes and standards.
  • Knowledge and application of Building Code.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite software.
