Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at a leading company in Nottingham, PA. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare journal entries, overseeing the monthly accounting close process, and preparing key financial reports such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the general ledger, accounts receivable, and payables ledgers within the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial results.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records, prepare account reconciliations, and supervise a team of 8 in the accounts receivable function.
  • Collaborate with the broader finance team to ensure seamless financial operations, and mentor and develop staff through performance management, training, and fostering strong relationships.
  • Assess current processes, recommend improvements, and contribute to special projects and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Support during quarterly and year-end financial audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on fostering a positive work culture.
  • Passion for process improvement, innovation, and best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with other financial systems is a plus.
