Job Summary:

The Vice President - Design, Construction & Facilities will provide strategic leadership of the Design, Construction, and Facilities teams overseeing the development and management of Five Guys' prototypes. This includes ensuring locations are successfully designed, built and opened within brand specifications, timeframe, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive and fiduciary leadership for capital and operating expense budgets, capital expenditure requests.
  • Participate in cross-functional strategic planning for the Construction function of the enterprise.
  • Communicate Development and Construction core strategies and priorities to leadership, cross-functional partners, franchisees, and other strategic partners.
  • Oversee the development of departmental policies, procedures, practices, processes, and systems to enhance quality, optimize spend, and drive Brand expansion.
  • Manage capital accountability, forecasting, savings, and efficiency for team projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field required.
  • 20+ years of relevant work experience in restaurant development, design, and/or consulting.
  • 10+ years of experience managing multi-unit construction projects.
  • 15+ years of experience leading other managers / cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree, MBA, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Preferred experience managing a large real estate portfolio and pipeline, while concurrently overseeing multiple remodels/conversions and new construction projects.
  • Experience leading teams, building projects, and communicating with vendors on an international scale.

Language Ability:

Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary.

Computer Skills:

Exceptional computer skills required in Microsoft Office Suite, Fexa, ProCore, Smartsheet, AutoCad, and other appropriate software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position requires supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

This position may require long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
