Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans to support the University's strategic initiatives
  • Lead a team of development professionals to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of the University
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs and other departments to develop and implement fundraising plans for priority programs
  • Provide leadership and management to a development team responsible for working with Athletics and Student Affairs to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising programs
  • Develop and implement strategy for principal and major gift solicitations to generate revenue and meet fundraising goals
  • Provide oversight for Annual Fund programs, ensuring that personal solicitation, telefund, and direct mail components are successfully supporting institutional fundraising goals and strategy
  • Develop and implement strategy for Corporate and Foundation Relations solicitations to generate revenue and meet fundraising goals
  • Assist the Vice President in building and sustaining the fundraising capabilities of the Board of Trustees
  • Assume direct responsibility for cultivation and solicitation of a select portfolio of principal gift prospects
  • Effectively recruit, evaluate, motivate, and encourage professional development of employees, ensuring that all hiring and supervisory practices comply with the spirit and intent of the University's policy on diversity and EEO/AA guidelines
Requirements
  • Senior-level experience in fundraising, especially with capital campaigns, preferably in a higher education environment
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, including annual giving, leadership giving, major gifts, planned giving, and corporate and foundation giving
  • Ability to collaborate with key constituent groups, both on and off campus
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and to effectively prioritize and execute multiple projects
  • Supervisory experience and leadership skills
  • Undergraduate degree required
