About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Development Manager to join our team at Portland General Electric. As a key member of our Advanced Energy Delivery Technology Solutions team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of developers, data scientists, and engineers working on data products and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of developers, data scientists, and engineers working on data products and applications.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle for data products, from conception to deployment and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to define product requirements and roadmaps.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and efficient data products that meet business objectives.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing procedures.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of data products.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data science, machine learning, and software development.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance on technical challenges and career growth.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations in all developed products.
Requirements
  • Typically a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically eight or more years in related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of business goals and scope-of-change initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of user experience design frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of change management processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of software configuration.
  • Advanced knowledge of operating system concepts.
  • Intermediate knowledge of infrastructure concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge of service continuity planning and support.
  • Familiarity in programming languages commonly used in data products (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $125,790.00 - $233,610.00, commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity.
