Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Retail Department Coordinator to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience, overseeing a team of Associates, and ensuring the smooth operation of our front-end processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a positive internal and external customer experience by providing exceptional service and promoting loyalty programs.
  • Promote a culture of honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and upholding our company values.
  • Take an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front-end principles, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Train and coach Associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs, ensuring they understand the importance of building strong relationships with our customers.
  • Assign registers, support and respond to POS coverage needs, and coordinate breaks for all Associates, ensuring seamless operations and maximum productivity.
  • Address customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience and resolving any issues efficiently.
  • Ensure Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan, prioritizing as needed and communicating effectively with management and Associates.
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, providing progress updates and ensuring everyone is aligned with our goals.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and growth.
  • Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness, ensuring our team has the skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, upholding our company's commitment to compliance and integrity.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs, ensuring our customers have access to the benefits and rewards they deserve.
  • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs, working collaboratively with our team to achieve our objectives.
  • Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment, ensuring our customers and Associates feel secure and supported.
Requirements
  • Available to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising techniques and ability to apply them effectively.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors to achieve our goals.
  • Able to train others, with a passion for developing and mentoring our team members.
  • 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.

This position has a starting pay range of $16.95 to $17.45 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
