KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Code Compliance division within the Economic Development & Planning Department is in search of a Regulatory Compliance Officer. This position is well-suited for candidates with experience in construction and building trades. The role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to the City's regulations concerning housing, signage, and zoning in City of Lansing.

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  • Associate's Degree in Building Trades, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Urban Planning or Residential Construction
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications is necessary
  • Must possess ICC Certification as a Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Coursework in a building trade is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires physical activities such as walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and crawling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work will be conducted in office settings, vehicles, and outdoor locations.
