Job Summary

Bouten Construction Company is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Spokane, WA. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for performing payroll processing and accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and input employee time and payroll data, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Compute employees' time worked, car allowances, reimbursements, and other benefits
  • Process wage deductions, including garnishments and associated paperwork
  • Maintain and update prevailing wage rates
  • Review all payroll entries and reports for accuracy and necessary approvals
  • Research and resolve questions from managers and employees regarding payroll information
  • Check records and documents for clerical and mathematical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and procedures
  • Prepare Certified Payroll Report, ensuring accuracy and timely filing
  • Reconcile and complete monthly union contribution reports
  • Assist with accounts payable as needed
Requirements
  • Two-year college degree in Business Administration/Accounting with four years' experience in payroll processing
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) preferred
  • Understanding of multi-State payroll, job costing, and union payroll a plus
  • High Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Software: Sage Intaact and Miter
