Key Responsibilities

  • Educates clients about the scope of practice, including Therapeutic Behavioral Support (TBS) and Psychiatric Social Rehabilitation (PSR), while clarifying supervision details, including the supervisor's name and credentials.
  • Conducts preliminary assessments of client needs, with TBS focusing on comprehensive treatment planning and PSR executing the treatment plan in collaboration with clients and supervisors.
  • Facilitates interventions in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Establishes a professional and trusting rapport with clients and their families.
  • Assists clients in accessing essential material resources.
  • Provides crisis support to clients as needed.
  • Guides clients in developing and utilizing coping strategies essential for community living, fostering greater self-sufficiency.
  • Encourages client engagement in community activities and social events.
  • Offers education and support to family members and significant others regarding the client's diagnosis and mental health condition, aiding them in supporting the client's treatment objectives.
  • Advocates for the client's rights and dignity within the community.
  • Maintains accurate clinical documentation within 24 hours of service delivery.
  • Participates in program needs assessments and peer reviews, contributing to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Adheres to supervision requirements and operates within the designated scope of practice.
  • Engages in community outreach and educational assignments, including mental health education and prevention programs, under supervision.
  • Meets productivity expectations of at least 50% or over 90 hours of billable services monthly.
  • Ensures compliance with confidentiality and protected health information regulations.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings, in-services, case conferences, and supervision sessions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support agency operations.
  • Collaborates in maintaining a clean and safe workplace, including the upkeep of CPR/First Aid skills and client management techniques.

Productivity Expectation: 100%

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with the SPMI/PMI population. An Associate's degree in a Social Services or Psychology-related field, with less than 3 years of experience, is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance coverage of 100,000/300,000 liability. The role may occasionally require transporting clients in a personal vehicle.
  • Supervision is available from qualified supervisory staff.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills with clients and the broader community.
  • Demonstrates competency in the necessary areas for performing the outlined activities with supervision.
  • Proficient in using computers for clinical documentation in CareLogic (MIS system) and generating written documentation in WORD or via email.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The ability to navigate uneven or cluttered surfaces is required, as well as the capacity to tolerate various environmental factors.

While fulfilling job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, sometimes in challenging weather conditions.

Occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required, as the employee must be comfortable driving in varied weather conditions and willing to transport clients to various locations.
