Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative postdoctoral researcher to join our team focused on HIV research. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge studies aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms that facilitate HIV transcription within host cells. Our mission is to develop novel therapeutic strategies to inhibit HIV-1, particularly those that target the latent reservoirs of infection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate the therapeutic potential of Tat inhibitors in relevant in vivo models of HIV latency.
- Explore mechanisms of Tat-independent HIV replication and their implications for the formation of viral reservoirs.
- Develop agents that promote HIV latency and assess their potential for contributing to a functional cure.
- Identify and characterize chromatin regulators and host cellular factors that influence HIV latency and reactivation.
Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (or MD/PhD) in biological sciences, including but not limited to virology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or immunology, with a strong publication record.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in virology techniques such as cell culture, virus production, and flow cytometry.
- Familiarity with BSL3 laboratory protocols.
- Proficiency in biochemistry methods including immunoprecipitation, Western blotting, and protein purification.
- Knowledge of epigenetic techniques such as ChIP-Seq and ATAC-Seq.
- Experience with small molecule screening and primary cell models of HIV latency.
- Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written, along with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
