Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at the University of Florida. The successful candidate will conduct innovative research in pregnancy physiology, complications, and lifespan impact, publish in top academic journals, and bring in external funding to support their salary and research.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct basic and applied research on maternal/fetal physiology, perinatal complications, and lifespan impact.
- Publish peer-reviewed manuscripts in field-appropriate journals.
- Play a key role in Center for Research in Perinatal Outcomes (CRPO) strategic planning and participate in the recruitment of speakers for the Reproductive and Perinatal Biology Research Program.
- Perform as principal investigator and/or co-investigator, contributing actively to applying for and renewing internal and external funding.
- Supervise/teach/mentor students (multiple levels), residents and fellows in the laboratory, and in the classroom.
- Support didactic curriculum of Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship.
- Oversee organization of research journal club.
- Collaborate with clinician scientists in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- PhD in Biological/Biomedical Sciences.
- At least 3 year postdoctoral experience in models of placental complications, both in vivo and in vitro.
- Excellent publication record.
- Experience of lab management and trainee support.
- Must hold external research funding appropriate for career stage and have strong evidence of future potential for funding.
