Catholic Charities of Louisville is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentoring Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Migration and Refugee Services Department, you will play a vital role in coordinating the Youth Mentoring Programs for refugee and immigrant youth.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the community engagement team to identify, interview, train, and match new mentors with mentees.
- Work closely with Youth Team staff and JCPS staff to identify youth who would benefit from the programs and explain the mentoring process to families.
- Conduct mentee intakes, match meetings, check-ins, and close-out meetings to ensure a successful mentoring experience.
- Plan, organize, and execute mentor trainings and large group mentoring events to promote program growth and engagement.
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation for each match, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Provide ongoing support and resources to participants, including phone calls, referrals, and training opportunities.
- Facilitate opening, check-in, and closing meetings with mentors, mentees, and families to ensure a smooth mentoring process.
- Participate in state-wide program events, national webinars, and maintain relationships with funding sources to ensure program sustainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Spanish, Dari, and/or Pashto is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle stressful situations, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in PC skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Suite, and Outlook.
- Ability to relate to diverse populations and maintain a commitment to empowering underserved communities.
