Job Summary

The Youth Care Worker I is a vital member of our team at Bellewood and Brooklawn, responsible for providing direct care services to residents, assisting professional staff in implementing individual treatment plans, and ensuring the effective operation of our residential program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and monitor behaviors/skills according to individualized treatment plans using the Psycho-Educational Model (PEM)
  • Model appropriate relationships with youth and staff
  • Teach meal preparation and living skills
  • Attend consultation meetings
  • Monitor and maintain a safe living and learning environment for youth
  • Attend to youths' medical/physical conditions
  • Assist in preparing youth summaries and reports
  • Assist in processing documents for youth intake and departure
  • Participate in Safe Crisis Management as needed
  • Update youth files
  • Participate in shift transition meetings
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and daily feedback sessions
  • Transport youth to and from cottage/campus to school, appointments, and outings

Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a preferred field of study desired
  • SCM certification, First Aid/CPR certification, valid driver's license

Compensation
$18.00 per hour plus $1.00 per hour shift differential. Additional pay based on Residential Experience and/or a Bachelor's degree.
