Sanitation Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sanitation Manager to join our team at E.A. Sween. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality in our production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of sanitation personnel to ensure effective execution of sanitation tasks.
  • Monitor and control chemical usage and disposal to minimize environmental impact and ensure employee safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including chemical usage and disposal.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food processing facility.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation chemicals and water chemistry.
  • Basic maintenance skills for sanitation equipment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements for SDS.
  • Proficient in PC-based software, including Windows, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS degree in science (chemistry, biology, food science) or Registered Sanitarian.
  • Basic first aid certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to work with chemicals and water temperatures above 160 degrees.
  • Ability to work with high-pressure pumps and equipment.
