Key Role Responsibilities - Core

ME ENGINEER FAMILY - CORE
  • Engages in all facets of the company's safety and quality initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining an injury-free workplace through personal actions and mentorship.
  • Completes fundamental mechanical, electrical, and field construction tasks.
  • Begins to develop budgetary mechanical/electrical estimates based on program and schematic design information utilizing automated estimating systems.
  • Assists in evaluating mechanical and electrical alternatives during the preconstruction phase and conducts systems analysis for selected projects.
  • Begins to formulate the mechanical and electrical scopes of work for coordination during the bidding process.
  • Supports the bid analysis process and contributes to the subcontractor selection procedure.
  • Assists in establishing sequencing requirements for various systems and offers solutions to align with scheduling needs.
  • Acquires knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and aids in developing constructability review reports.
  • Conducts job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
  • Assists with the shop drawing/submittal process to adhere to contract documents.
  • Participates in the commissioning process, including the development of pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and actual functional testing.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

ME ENGINEER 2

Additionally, this position will encompass the following responsibilities:
  • Facilitates the generation, issuance, and execution of the Commissioning Plan for assigned projects.
  • Independently interacts with project teams regarding deliverables.
  • Takes responsibility for producing and explaining work products to assigned clients, representing JE Dunn in a professional manner.
  • Reviews compliance of shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors before submission to the design team.
  • Leads the mechanical/electrical coordination efforts.
  • Engages in all construction phases from startup to closeout to ensure successful delivery of the final product to the client.
  • Develops schedules for mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Conducts site inspections and submits reports to the project team.
  • Creates constructability reviews and submits reports to the project team.
  • May participate in job pursuit presentations showcasing mechanical/electrical expertise.

  • Proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction mechanical/electrical tools and software.
  • Understanding of construction management methods and practices.
  • Ability to foster relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in construction and/or engineering (Required).
