Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Coordinator to join our team at Barnstable County. The successful candidate will provide evidence-based treatment to children and their non-offending family members experiencing trauma.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field, and at least 3-5 years of experience in providing clinical treatment to children and families. Training and experience in evidence-based trauma modalities such as TF-CBT, ARC, and EMDR are highly desirable.
The Mental Health Coordinator will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality services to child victims of abuse. The role requires flexibility around scheduled work hours to accommodate evening and weekend appointments, and the ability to work in a hybrid model with a mix of in-person and telehealth services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing empathetic and culturally sensitive onsite and telehealth evidence-based counseling services for child victims of abuse
- Assessing child victims, developing individual treatment plans, and providing psychoeducation to clients and caregivers
- Participating in multidisciplinary teams, providing high-quality written and verbal reporting, and testifying in court as needed
- Facilitating clinical and psychoeducational support groups, developing clinical partnerships with community agencies, and leading mental health capacity building projects
