This pivotal position is responsible for the strategic oversight and administration of technical support systems, personnel, and end-user assistance for the College of Education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage daily technical assistance for faculty, staff, and students across a diverse computing landscape, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Linux platforms.
  2. Supervise the college's help desk team, ensuring efficient and effective support for all users.
  3. Implement innovative technology solutions that empower faculty, staff, and students in their teaching, research, and community service efforts.
  4. Coordinate with appropriate support teams to resolve complex hardware and software issues promptly.
  5. Oversee the procurement of technology equipment and software, including inventory management and equipment deployment.
  6. Maintain and update the college's equipment inventory and replacement schedule, ensuring optimal use of resources.
  7. Ensure the maintenance and functionality of technology in classrooms, providing necessary support and training.
  8. Support and manage cloud-based tools essential for teaching, research, and administrative functions.
  9. Act as a liaison and project manager for technology initiatives, collaborating with internal staff and external vendors.
  10. Document all processes and maintain comprehensive user guides and tutorials.
  11. Develop and uphold a data security strategy for the technology center.
  12. Collaborate with the department team to enhance Teams/SharePoint sites that align with the college's objectives.
  13. Stay informed on advancements in IT within higher education by engaging with peers and pursuing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a computer-related discipline, along with four years of experience in managing end-user support systems, and two years of supervisory experience. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with university technology infrastructure and administrative systems.
  • Familiarity with customer service ticketing systems.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing SharePoint sites.
  • Basic knowledge of web technologies and accessibility standards.
  • Understanding of media editing tools and security audit controls.
