The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to HR staff, including data entry, record-keeping, and correspondence.
- Assist with recruitment and hiring processes, including posting job openings, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee information, including personnel files and benefits data.
- Coordinate training and development programs for HR staff, including scheduling, logistics, and evaluation.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by HR management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Four years of full-time experience in human resources, customer service, or a related field.
- Computer operations experience preferred.
- Ability to type 45 WPM with no more than 10 errors.
- Must have or be able to obtain a certificate of course completion for the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) policy and procedures training within six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with HR software and systems.
- Knowledge of Texas state laws and regulations related to human resources.
