Job Summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Integration Engineer to provide technical expertise in systems design, integration, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with a focus on DoD programs and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems Engineering: Perform systems engineering to include expertise in systems design and integration; manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering; airworthiness; and configuration, and data management.
  • Process Development: Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining processes to assure weapon systems are fully integrated, manufactured, sustained, configuration managed and operationally safe, suitable and effective throughout their life cycle.
  • Airworthiness: Understand and execute AFPD 62-6, USAF Airworthiness, through standardized processes, and issuance of flight authorizations.
  • Risk Management: Apply OSS&E and airworthiness processes, as well as assist in providing risk assessments, safety analysis and recommendations, and addressing high priority safety issues.
  • Database Analysis: Review and assist in performing assessments on program specific databases, analyzing BIT failure reports, and comparing failure reports against the BIT interpreter analyzer for accuracy of BIT indications.
  • System Integration: Provide system integration guidance to aircraft program offices for the program system installation and system maintenance.
  • Technical Proposal Review: Review and analyze technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system capability.
  • Performance Analysis: Assist in conducting performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies.
  • Systems Analysis: Conduct systems analyses to including but not limited to system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessments.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and proper application of systems engineering processes to support technology and systems development.
  • System Design: Assist in the development and review of the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements).
Requirements
  • Experience: 15+ years experience in systems engineering including at least 5 years supporting DoD programs.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Skills: Able to apply an understanding of DoD, AF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of systems engineering in support of system definition, development, integration, verification methods, sustainment, risk modeling/simulation, testing and evaluation, human system integration (HSI), crew stations engineering, OSS&E efforts, interoperability requirements, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems, including ground-based systems.
  • Software: Able to access/maintain government electronic technical systems including but not limited to Integrated Electronic Technical Management System (IETMS) and Joint Computer-Aided Acquisition and Logistics Support (JCALS) system preferred.
  • Communication: Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner.
  • Certifications: Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
