CLINICAL NURSING EDUCATOR - OBSTETRICS

These educational roles may involve working at clinical locations such as affiliated hospitals or long-term care facilities.


The City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing (CCCSON) program equips nursing students for the professional registered nurse role.

CCCSON integrates nursing theory with practical application alongside general education.

Students gain clinical experience while caring for individuals across all age groups through skills labs, simulations, and clinical placements throughout the metropolitan area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop courses that align with learning objectives and encourage active student engagement in their educational journey.


Create a conducive learning atmosphere that stimulates intellectual curiosity and aids students in employing discipline-specific problem-solving strategies.


Utilize a range of formative and summative assessments to ensure that instructional methods lead to meaningful student learning and achievement of course outcomes.


Support students in reaching their academic, personal, and career aspirations while fostering a respectful environment that values diversity and promotes confidence in every student's learning potential.


Contribute to and take on leadership roles within the academic and professional communities of students, promoting collaboration and teamwork among community members.

Deliver effective instruction based on approved course outlines.

Evaluate and grade students based on valid assessment criteria.

Maintain and submit accurate records of student attendance and grades.

Provide one hour of student consultation time each week for every course section taught.

REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in Nursing is required.

Doctorate in Nursing (DNP or PhD) is preferred.

Current, unencumbered Illinois RN license is required.

A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience is required.

Familiarity with Brightspace Learning Management System or similar platforms is preferred.

Prior experience in online teaching (via Zoom) and/or online teaching certification is strongly preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse group of staff and students, are essential.

Experience with a diverse, multilingual student body is desirable, along with a commitment to the open access mission of community colleges.
