About the Role

Astrolab is seeking a seasoned expert to lead our safety and mission assurance team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of systems safety, hazard analysis, risk management, and mission assurance.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper safety processes, analysis, and protocols are in place for the LTVS program across various locations. This includes factory, launch site, and lunar operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the safety and mission assurance team to analyze and develop procedures and processes to assure safety and mission success.
  • Coordinate among all Astrolab elements and subcontractors to ensure a consistent safety approach.
  • Collaborate with NASA and the Program Manager to ensure safe implementation of program interfaces.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences.
  • 5+ years' experience in spaceflight programs.
  • Possession of a detailed knowledge of NASA's Systems Safety Handbook and Safety Culture Handbook.
  • Experience with commercial spaceflight programs, factory, prelaunch, and in-space operations.

Compensation and Benefits:

The competitive salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 per annum. In addition to the salary, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and flexible time off.
