Space Safety Director

Astrolab is a pioneering company in planetary exploration, and we are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Space Safety Director. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of our operations on lunar bodies and maintaining compliance with NASA's regulations.
Responsibilities- Lead the safety and mission assurance team at Astrolab to analyze and develop procedures and processes to assure safety and mission success consistent with the risk tolerance of NASA and Astrolab.
- Collaborate with NASA and our Program Manager to ensure safe implementation of program interfaces and prevent hazards from progressing across system interfaces.
- Develop analyses, procedures, and protocols for the LTVS program, and serve as a counterpart to NASA leads for Safety and Mission Assurance.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences.
- 5+ years' experience in spaceflight programs, preferably in NASA projects and programs.
- Prior experience in systems engineering, hazard analysis, risk management, fault tree analysis, reliability modeling, probabilistic risk analysis, and mission assurance.
- Detailed knowledge of NASA's Systems Safety Handbook and Safety Culture Handbook.
