Job Overview:

Position Summary:

The Environmental Compliance Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Site Environmental Engineer by overseeing the implementation of environmental initiatives at the Front Royal facility. This position primarily emphasizes the management of hazardous waste protocols, documentation for shipping, and meticulous record maintenance, alongside non-hazardous waste oversight and Department of Transportation (DoT) compliance.

Key Relationships:
  • Reports to: EHS Manager
Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and document the generation, storage, disposal, and transportation of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste at the Front Royal site.
  • Provide daily support to operational teams to ensure adherence to RCRA regulations and to develop systems that promote long-term compliance.
  • Create and manage Waste Characterization forms for various waste streams produced by the facility.
  • Conduct environmental audits of operational areas and engage in second-party audits, serving both as an auditor and host.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry benchmarks to offer recommendations for ongoing improvement.
  • Act as a backup to the Site Environmental Engineer concerning all environmental regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, SARA, MACT, and LDAR.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental sciences, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), with a combination of educational background and manufacturing site experience being acceptable.
  • Demonstrated ownership of RCRA compliance.
  • A collaborative team player who is proactive and can work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams; experience with EHS software is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems and regulatory auditing, with strong subject matter expertise.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
