Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Bus Driver: Work closely with the bus driver to ensure the safety of students on board. This includes helping students seat and greet them as they enter and exit the bus.
  • Maintain Discipline: Maintain order and discipline on the bus, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students.
  • First Aid and Emergency Response: Administer first aid for minor injuries and assess potential emergency situations to take appropriate action to protect the well-being of passengers.
  • Bus Maintenance: Assist the bus driver in cleaning and sanitizing the interior of the bus to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Emergency Evacuation Drills: Assist in conducting emergency evacuation drills to ensure efficiency of procedures and compliance with mandated requirements.
  • Special Education Support: Assist special education students with safe ingress and egress from the bus, including emergency situations and normal transport.
  • Behavior Management: Implement intervention strategies and perform direct behavior management services to maintain order and discipline on the bus.
  • Student Instructio: Instruct special education students and other passengers on rules and regulations to maintain safety.
  • Student Safety: Monitor student behavior to diffuse situations and prevent distractions to the driver or injury to themselves or other passengers.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare written materials, such as referrals, incident reports, and student counts, to document activities and provide written reference.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to be physically able to lift students and equipment as required.
