Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Procurement Manager to join our Global Procurement team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and sourcing our global spend in Inbound (First Mile), Outbound (Middle Mile), and Outbound (Last Mile) Transportation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be part of a team of category leads, sourcing managers, and analysts supporting Nike's key geographies of North America (NA), Asia Pacific & Latin America (APLA), Greater China (GC), Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) and Global (Center). You will use your supply chain and transportation category knowledge to focus on optimizing Nike's global sourcing and partnership opportunities. These roles report into the Global Procurement Supply Chain Directors for Inbound (First Mile role) and Outbound Transportation (Middle and Last Mile roles).

Key Responsibilities

You will work with stakeholders and partners to deliver the best solutions and optimize our spend within the Nike network, including factory to distribution, Nike to store, and customer transportation categories. Inbound emphasis will be on Ocean and Air Freight along with Origin Consolidation and Custom Brokerage. Outbound emphasis will be on Full Truckload (FTL), Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), Drayage, Pool Point, Small Parcel, and Intermodal. You will lead with strategy and building relationships at the forefront of your mind.

What You Will Work On

The Lead, Global Outbound Middle Mile Category Sourcing Manager will be responsible for the transportation modes of transportation of Outbound from DC to retail/wholesale customers aka stores and partners. The Lead, Global Outbound Last Mile Category Sourcing Manager will be responsible for the transportation modes of transportation of Outbound from DC or Origin to Consumer aka direct-to-customer. You will collaborate with both global teams and in-geo internal business partners on Category Management to meet business objectives. You will work to prioritize the pipeline of spend areas to address and jointly identify in-year/multi-year opportunities initiatives. You will lead a multi-year category strategy development within outbound transportation categories.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of the transportation market and modes of transportation. Key categories include: Full Truckload, Less-Than-Truckload, Pool Point, Drayage, Intermodal, and Small Parcel. You should have experience with clean sheet should cost modeling and negotiation methodology. A Total Cost of Ownership approach to spend management is essential. You should also have rigorous cost savings approaches and analytics, with expertise in total delivered cost. Familiarity with product management and development approaches, including consumer insights and competitive product analysis, is a plus. Experience working cross-culturally on global categories, with leadership, influencing, and communication skills gained across a range of cultural environments, is required. A track record of managing business partners and relationships (Carriers and/or SRM) is also necessary. Project management, presentation, and influencing skills, as well as the ability to interact with management, are essential. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar internationally accredited qualification is preferred. Experience with Procurement technology/e-Sourcing tools (i.e., Jaggaer) is a plus. Must be willing to travel (up to 10%).
