Position Overview:

This role is designed for a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer specializing in Controls, focusing on the design and development of manufacturing processes and systems that prioritize quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery across all business functions.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will:

  • Design, document, implement, and execute manufacturing process systems utilizing automation controls, sensors, and database connectivity, with a focus on processes that validate and finalize products before customer shipment.
  • Collaborate with vendors and equipment manufacturers to validate, run-off, and install process systems, which may include semi-automated and fully automated systems, product functionality testers, and performance testers.
  • Conduct process qualification activities to ensure compliance with required specifications and create necessary documentation for new processes while providing training support for production associates.
  • Manage and enhance manufacturing standards for controls, testing, and equipment.
  • Lead projects aimed at developing processes for HVAC chiller manufacturing.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative, cost-effective, and safe manufacturing processes and techniques to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Develop manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements, capability assessments, and control plans to define and specify manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to resolve manufacturing process and product design challenges promptly.
  • Design and implement manufacturing flows, workstation layouts, and controls that optimize value-added operations, reduce operating costs, and enhance product/process quality.
  • Work closely with various functional teams to improve design for manufacturability and facilitate seamless integration into manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with automation equipment, sensors, and tooling.
  • Proven skills in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming and implementation.
  • Experience in Oracle and SQL Database development.
  • Familiarity with OPC connectivity for local and remote equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial controls and applications.
  • Basic understanding of test system functionality or programming.
  • Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting process and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings and diagrams.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems in automated industrial applications.
  • Experience or training in Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Background in HVAC or heavy industrial environments is preferred.

Additional Skills:
Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for chiller products.
  • Experience in new product launches and project management.
  • Familiarity with advanced quality and design techniques.
  • Understanding of life cycle cost analysis and capacity analysis.

Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $75,000 to $150,000, based on national averages. Actual compensation may vary based on seniority, merit, and geographic location.
