Job Title: Plant Automation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Automation Engineer to design and implement manufacturing solutions that align with key lean principles. The successful candidate will plan and improve production methods, estimate production times to meet production goals, and develop innovative automation solutions to augment, support, and improve assembly and manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Establish improvement goals and objectives that provide world-class performance to the organization.
  2. Oversee and direct the Automated and Semi-Automated manufacture of products and process optimization.
  3. Research, evaluate, develop, and implement new manufacturing methods and equipment to provide world-class manufacturing capability and competence.
  4. Provide direct support for automated assembly and test systems in the manufacturing environment.
  5. Coordinate and communicate with other department representatives to ensure manufacturing activities are aligned to achieve the schedule, fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, ensure on-time delivery, and meet or exceed customer requirements and business goals.
  6. Develop, update, and implement operating and quality control procedures, and ensure they are met.
  7. Research and develop information system solutions, control systems, and testing methods to improve production data collection, provide process automation and error proofing, and enhance data reporting.
  8. Champion continuous improvement efforts and provide input on processes, procedures, materials, product structure, and services to support innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum five years of direct manufacturing experience with Automated and Semi-Automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
  3. Experience or background with automation controls design or system development in a manufacturing scenario.
  4. Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives, including design of experiments (DOE).
  5. Deep understanding of Lean manufacturing, ISO quality procedures, and mechanical and electrical assembly.
  6. Demonstrated proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at an advanced level.
  7. In-depth knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP) required.
  8. In-depth knowledge of control systems, electrical testing, and troubleshooting, etc.
  9. Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
