We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated EMT Ground Transport Specialist to join our team at Intermountain Health. As an EMT Ground Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for providing patient care in the prehospital and interhospital environment, operating the ambulance, and ensuring the safe transport of patients between hospitals and receiving facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and understand normal ranges and changes.
- Inform RNs or physicians of changes in vital signs.
- Work with EMT or Paramedic partners to provide safe patient transport.
- Establish and maintain effective radio communication with HELP Flight dispatch and other agencies.
- Initiate department standing orders in appropriate patients and perform basic airway techniques, including oxygen therapy.
- Participate in HELP Flight Safety committee and complete an initial assessment of the patient, documenting in the EMR.
- Initiate needed interventions to support safe patient transport and provide safe movement of patients, applying principles of safe patient handling.
- Promote mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abide by Service Behavior Standards.
- Demonstrate and adhere to the standards of infection prevention.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Basic EMT training program or Paramedic Training in the state of practice.
- Current Montana and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification.
- Valid and unrestricted United States Drivers License.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an EMT.
This position requires regular attendance and the ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends. The successful candidate must be able to pass a physical health assessment examination upon hire and annually thereafter.
